Craig Walker is Director of Climate, Controls and Security (CCS) Innovation at United Technologies Research Center (UTRC). In this strategic leadership role, he oversees the planning and implementation of innovations and technologies for CCS within UTC’s Building and Industrial Systems Business. In this position, which he has held since late 2012, he is responsible for the maturation of technologies that optimize component and subsystem integration to deliver differentiated value in building and district performance and energy use including HVAC component and system development, security and access control, fire and smoke detection and suppression, and the integration of these technologies to deliver intelligent building operations and supply demand optimization.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Walker led the Research Center’s Energy Systems Program Office, where he directed maturation of advanced onsite power technologies, resulting in the launch of two product families (PureComfort and PureCycle) and five product variations.

He started his career at UTC in 1986 and since then has held positions of increasing responsibility. These include Manager, GP7000 Program Design for Cost at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft; Manager, Materials and Processes Development, Pratt & Whitney; Materials Discipline Manager, CSMC, Pratt & Whitney and Supervisor Failure Analysis Group, Pratt & Whitney.

Mr. Walker holds Masters and Bachelor of Science degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of Florida, and is a graduate of the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
