Synthesis, Electrical and Dielectric Properties of LiCoO2 Nanoparticles

Summary:

Nanocrystalline LiCoO2 particles were successfully prepared by citric acid assisted combustion process. The citric acid was used as fuel as well as chelating agent. The XRD pattern confirms the formation of phase pure LiCoO2. The formation of spherical nanoparticles with an average particle size of 300 nm was confirmed from SEM results. The electrical conductivity evaluated from the analyzed impedance data is found to be 1.3509 x 10-5 S cm-1. The AC conductivity shows a plateau region at low frequencies and a dispersion region at high frequencies. The dielectric studies reveals that the dielectric constant decreases with increase of frequency and becomes constant at higher frequencies.
