NEEDS, Nano-Engineered Electronic Device Simulation, is the electronics node of the Network for Computational Nanotechnology. NEEDS is funded by the National Science Foundation with additional support from the Semiconductor Research Corporation. The goal is to connect research in materials and devices to circuit and system level applications. This talk will review the background and rationale for establishing NEEDS, summarize its current status, discuss plans for the future, and explain how others can leverage the capabilities of NEEDS and contribute to its development.
