Summary:

The Department of Energy’s Carbon Capture Program –managed within the Office of Fossil Energy – has been developing both second generation and transformational technologies that will enable carbon capture and storage (CCS) to become an effective and cost effective option for reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from fossil fuel based power plants. Successful research and development will enable CCS technologies to overcome the various technical, economic, and social challenges associated with this technology. The research being supported by the program leverages public and private partnerships to support the goal of broad, cost-effective carbon capture deployment. This presentation will provide an overview of the U.S. DOE R&D Program.
