Device for the measurement of linear and nonlinear rheology of bulk materials and interfaces

Technology Area: Instrumentation & Manufacturing

Commercial Maturity: Prototype

Abstract: A novel device to measure the rheology (e.g. visco-elasticity, yield stress) of bulk materials and fluid interfaces for a variety of industries. The device uses a microfabricated probe with hundred-fold sensitivity increase over current interfacial rheometers, and enables measurements with micro-liter samples of a wide range of materials.
