Abstract: Wide-bandgap semiconductors such as Silicon Carbide and Gallium Nitride have the potential to enable a new generation of power electronics to enhance the nation’s energy efficiency. Possible benefits include improved power conversion efficiency; reduced system size, weight, and complexity; better system reliability; and the enablement of new high-temperature applications.
