A Living Cell Fluorescence Assay for Detection and Monitoring of Endocrine Disrupting Chemicals (Edcs) in the Water

Technology Area: Environmental, Water & Waste

Commercial Maturity: Prototype

Abstract: We developed an assay for detecting EDCs in water samples that employs live mammalian cells engineered to express a traceable fusion protein that changes its sub-cellular localization (from cytoplasm to the nucleus) in response to hormones or EDCs. This assay can be used widely to screen environmental samples for EDCs.
