Thermochemical low energy conversion of wastewater sludge to valuable products

Technology Area: Materials & Chemical

Commercial Maturity: Prototype

Abstract: Hydrothermal Carbonization (HTC) is a form of pyrolysis that converts wet biomass such as manure, municipal waste sludge, algae and fermentation residues to valuable products including phosphorous, fatty acids, char and fertilizer without the need for energy intensive drying.
