Graphite has traditionally been the Li-ion battery anode material of choice for commercial use today. Silicon-based anodes are particularly attractive because of they have 10X specific capacity over graphite. The problem is silicon becomes unstable after only a few cycles. CalBattery stabilizes silicon using the Argonne si-graphene anode process.
