Penny Perry is the global market and product planning manager for DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers, which supplies performance enhancing encapsulant materials to the photovoltaic industry. DuPont™ PV Series encapsulants are part of a broad and growing portfolio of products represented by DuPont Photovoltaic Solutions (DPVS), which connects science and technology from across the company to help support the rapidly growing solar industry.
One of Dr. Perry’s responsibilities is the development of new encapsulant materials that meet the changing needs of cell and module makers by providing reliable protection to the cells while reducing cell-to-module efficiency losses. She has more than 25 years of experience with ethylene copolymer materials such as Ethylene Vinyl Acetate (EVA) and ionomers, and has been working with photovoltaic systems since 2008.
Dr. Perry has a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of California, Riverside, and joined DuPont at the Experimental Station in Wilmington, Delaware in 1984. During her career with DuPont she has held a variety of positions in new business development as well as technology, business and market management.
