Kevin joined Applied Materials in 2009 and is Chief Marketing Officer and Managing Director of Business Development for the company's Energy & Environmental Solutions segment. Applied Materials is the #1 provider of manufacturing equipment to the solar photovoltaic industry and is currently developing solutions for the solid state lighting and large energy storage markets. Kevin has over 15 years of experience in clean technology, specialty materials, semiconductor and networking devices. Prior to Applied, Kevin was Director of Technical Marketing at NanoGram Corporation where he drove business development efforts for advanced materials used in a variety of energy applications. Earlier in his career, Kevin served as Head of Product Marketing at AMD-Spansion and held marketing and engineering roles at Intel and Avanex. He started his career by co-founding venture-funded Cumulus Photonics to commercialize optical dispersion compensation technology developed at MIT.
Kevin earned PhD and MS degrees in Materials Science & Engineering from MIT as a US DoD Graduate Fellow and MIT Starr Fellow. He holds a BS degree in Engineering Science from Penn State University, and serves on the Alumni Advisory Board of the Engineering Science Department. Kevin has published 9 technical papers and holds 2 US patents. He is a board member of NAATBatt and the non-profit organization Bread of Life East Palo Alto in Northern California.
