Microwave Synthesis of Gold Nanoparticles: Effect of Applied Microwave Power and Solution pH

Abstract:

The paper describes formation kinetics of microwave synthesis of colloidal gold nanoparticles. We consider microwave an important synthesis approach for nanoparticles which has certain advantage for scale up production with high quality. Our experiments systematically investigate the formation of Au nanoparticles and identified that the process is significantly affected by the applied microwave power at the initial stage of the reaction and the solution pH. Microwave synthesis, if appropriately optimized the formation parameters, can lead us to large volume production of colloidal AuNPs with high uniformity which could be important for critical biomedical and materials science applications.
