Fabrication of electrochemical stem cell chip using nanostructured titanium substrate

Stem cell chip is a progressive technology for clinical use of stem cells. To make a good platform for electrical stem cell chip, it is essential to find a biocompatible material with high sensitive electrical characteristics. Anodically formed TiO2 nanotubes have high scientific interest in biomedical application with its biocompatibility and electrical characteristics. In this study, nanostructured titnanium was fabricated by electrophoretic technique. The size of titanium nanopore is from about 100nm. And gold nano dot is electrodeposited on the titanium surface for good adsorption of stem cells on the surface and for higher electrochemical activity of substrate. Then, the electrochemical characteristics of stem cells were detected by electrochemical tools such as cyclic voltammetry (CV). This modified titanium substrate can be applied to stem cell chip platform technology for electrical or electrochemical detection.
