Magnetic nanoparticles for drug targeting

Organization:Lund University, Not applicable, SE
I.P. Brief:Technology for the preparation of surface-coated magnetite nanoparticles and their conjugation to enzyme/protein drugs. The drug-loaded nanoparticles (typically 10–30 nm) are suitable for implant-assisted magnetic drug targeting. Dissolution of a blood clot in a stent-implanted coronary artery with tPA-nanoparticle conjugates has been demonstrated in a pig model. Patent pending.
Keywords:drug delivery, enzyme drug, enzyme immobilization, fibrinolysis, implant, magnetic drug targeting, magnetic nanoparticles, stents, thrombosis, tissue plasminogen activator (tPA)
Primary Industry:Biotech & Medical
