Gianfranco Pasut is Assistant Professor of “Delivery and Formulation of Biotech Drug” at the Department of Pharmaceutical and Pharmacological Sciences, University of Padova (Italy).

His research interests are focused on protein and drug conjugation with polymers. Studies have taken into consideration either synthetic or natural polymers such as poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG), polyoxazoline, hyaluronic acid, polyglutamic acid and polysialyc acid. Many studies have been conducted in the field of protein PEGylation exploiting both chemical or enzymatic approach of conjugation. New PEG-dendron-phospholipids derivatives have been developed for the preparation of stealth liposomes with extended stability in vivo.

He received a Master degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology in 1999 and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2003, both from the University of Padova. In 2001, during his PhD program he was at the Rheumatology Dept, Medical School, University of Pennsylvania (USA) and in 2007 he was “Visiting Scientist” at the School of Pharmacy, University of Reading (UK).
