Tapas completed his first degree in Chemistry ( BSc. Hons) followed by a Masters in Physical Chemistry (MSc). He then completed his PhD in Materials Chemistry from the premier research institution, National Chemical Laboratory, Pune, India. He moved to the UK in 2000 and worked as a postdoctoral Research Fellow in the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), Manchester (2000-2003) followed by multimillion Euro projects under EU framework V and VI programmes (2003-2008) before joining as a lecturer in Chemistry (December 2008) at the University of Central Lancashire. Currently he is a senior lecturer and leading the surface patterning group, Institute of Nanotechnology and Bioengineering (http://uclannanobio.com/research-projects.php?s=212&id=6&view=detail). He is the member of the Editorial board of peer-review journals “ISRN Nanotechnology” (http://www.isrn.com/59589487/) and “Journal of Nanoparticles” (http://www.hindawi.com/59589487/). He has a foundation degree in project management (PRINCE II) which is a method endorsed by the UK government as the project management standard for public projects. He is also the Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in UK.
