Rosette Nanotube-Supported Pd Nanoparticles: Characterization & Application to the Suzuki-Miyaura Cross-Coupling Reaction

Summary:

We have designed rosette nanotube supported palladium nanoparticles catalyst. The rosette nanotube is derived from the self-assembly of DNA hybrid molecules and the nanoparticles are derorated onto the surface of the rosette nanotube. The presence of lysine side chains onto the surface of the nanotube, which act as nucleation pockets, allows the formation of nearly monodispersed palladium nanoparticle. Application of this catalyst to Suzuki cross-coupling reaction shows high effciency towards the formation of coupling products under mild and aqueous condition.
