Brookhaven National Laboratory

Established in 1947 on Long Island, in Upton, New York, the U.S. Department of Energy’s Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, in advanced energy technologies, and in national security. Home to seven Nobel Prizes, Brookhaven has a staff of about 3,000 and hosts 4,000 university, industry, and government researchers each year at its world-class facilities.
