Smart Nanomaterials for Biologic Drug Delivery and Diagnostics

Patrick S. Stayton

Patrick S. Stayton

Professor of Bioengineering

University of Washington

Patrick S. Stayton is Washington Research Foundation Endowed Professor in the Department of Bioengineering and the University of Washington. He obtained his doctorate in biochemistry at the University of Illinois-Champaign.

The Stayton research group is interested in elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of biomolecular recognition and applying the unique capabilities of biological molecules to biotechnologies. They aim to bridge the gap between understanding molecular structure-function relationships, and being able to utilize proteins/peptides/DNA for drug therapies, bioanalytics, diagnostics, and biomaterial development.
