Nanostrucutured Sunscreen Agent and Production Method Thereof

Summary:

In the present work a chemically anisotropic system comprising a nanostructured solar protection agent was obtained via one-step pickering emulsion polymerization route therefore resulting in a composite core-shell structure in which the outer layer is represented by a thin film constituted of colloidal particles (metal oxide) and the inner nucleus is primarily composed by an ethylenically unsaturated monomer (polymerized in the presence of a catalyst) and at least one chemical compound (molecular absorber) dedicated for specific protection against solar radiation. This kind of spatial organization is particularly interesting because of the possibility of simultaneously offering protection against UVA and UVB radiation in a single technological solution and in an unique formulation, which poses long-term physical and chemical compatibility.
