Special Symposium

Biocompatible materials with nano-scale structure hold great promise as controlled release reservoirs for delivery of both small-molecule drugs and various classes of biomacromolecules, such as peptides, proteins, plasmid DNA and synthetic oligodeoxynucleotides. Promising delivery systems include microcapsules, liposomes, macromolecular conjugates, nanoparticles, dendrimers, and biological nanostuctures such benign viruses and bacteriophages. This symposium will focus on success stories and reports of exciting new nanostructured materials and approaches for drug and gene delivery.
