Sotiris E. Pratsinis Ph.D., Professor and Head of the Institute of Process Engineering at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zürich, Switzerland. Prof. Pratsinis (Ph.D. 1985, UCLA, U.S.A.) has published over a hundred refereed papers, book chapters and patents in the above research areas. His research program has been funded by over $2M largely by the U.S. National Science Foundation and several powder processing industries (DuPont, Dow Chemical, W.R. Grace, ICI [England], Degussa and Bayer [Germany], Royal Gist Brocades [Netherlands], Genencor, Procter and Gamble Co., Advanced Fuel Co. and Particle Technology Inc.). In 1998 he was elected Professor of Process Engineering at ETH Zürich where he is developing a program on powder technology focusing on fine particle science and engineering.
