Dr. McGrother obtained his PhD in computational chemistry from the University of Sheffield in the UK. He continued his studies with post-doctoral fellowships at the University of Patras in Greece, Cornell University, North Carolina State University and Imperial College in London. His research focussed on simple models of complex fluids, at phase transitions, in confined media and in mixtures.
Dr. McGrother then spent more than 5 years with MSI/Accelrys in various scientific marketing roles including Director of the Polymer Consortium and Senior Product Marketing Manager. During this time he forged collaborations with a wide range of scientists and engineers in industry, government and academia, presenting research papers at major international conferences and continuing to publish peer-reviewed papers.
He works from his office in Raleigh, NC.
Co-chairing the symposium on Nano & Micro: Computational Methods, Simulation & Software Tools.
