Dr. McKrell is a Research Scientist at MIT’s Nuclear Science and Engineering Department. He was awarded his PhD (1999) from the Institute of Materials Science at the University of Connecticut. His areas of technical expertise include heat transfer and materials science. Current research focuses on the effects of nanoparticles on the heat transfer behavior fluids under single phase, two phase, and critical heat flux conditions. He is also the director of all experimental activities at the Center for Nanofluids Technology and Center for Advanced Nuclear Energy Systems (CANES) at MIT. He has refereed for journals, sat on review panels, and authored over 50 peer reviewed journal and conference papers.
