Infrared, Optical and Raman Investigation of Double-walled Carbon Nanotubes Prepared from C60@SWNT Peapods

Abstract:

Based on wide-range optical and Raman spectra, we investigate the electronic properties of C60-filled single-walled carbon nanotubes and double-walled nanotubes prepared by their annealing. We find that while C60 filling induces charge transfer, further conversion into double-walled nanotubes leads to carrier localization. We also find evidence for infrared vibrational features in the spectra.
