High Value Sensor Systems – a Commercial View

Abstract:

Distributed Sensing Solutions -- intelligent, interconnected systems which gather and take action based on sensed physical environmental information -- are in the early stages of commercial roll-out. A number of these applications fall into a “high value” category, meaning that the ultimate application size and value warrants a purpose-built system. These high value sensor systems require deep integration of commercial and technical areas together to create lasting customer value. Significant opportunities exist to incorporate new MEMS technologies as sensors in these systems, and value will be created when the integration is done with partnerships and approaches that embrace the need for system solutions across both the technical and commercial domains. In this talk, I will discuss interactions between the commercial and technical design domains in these high value sensor systems.
