Special Symposium
This special symposium focuses on the recent advancements in both wet and dry nano particle synthesis, integration, distribution and application.
This symposium is coordinated with the Composite Materials, Soft Nanotech, Biosensors, Polymer Nanotechnology and Characterization symposia. Joint sessions will cover several of the topic areas.
Submissions are invited in all areas of wet synthesis including developments and applications of sol/gel and emulsion based processes and templating using soft nanostructured materials such as block copolymers or surfactants.
Regarding dry nanoparticulates, through evolutionary research, industry today uses dry technology for manufacture of carbon blacks and simple oxides. It is practically impossible to use these production units for synthesis of functional inorganic nanoparticles without going through the same costly and time-consuming development cycle. However, recent major breakthroughs in academia have placed dry synthesis of nanoparticles on a firm scientific basis, allowing synthesis of functional materials in appreciable volumes and at competitive prices. This has created renewed interest in dry processes and products.
This symposium focuses on these breakthroughs, leading to integrated process development for final product performance rather than particle characteristics. Special emphasis is placed on the degree of particle agglomeration, and its control, as well as on nanoparticles with designed morphology and layered composition.Topics & Application Areas
