Valery A. Petrenko—Professor at Auburn University—received MS in chemistry (Moscow State University, Russia, 1972), Ph.D. in chemistry (Institute of Organic Chemistry, Moscow, 1976), D.Sc. in chemistry (Moscow State University, Russia, 1988), Honor Rank of Senior Scientist in Bioorganic Chemistry (1984) and Honor Rank of Professor in Molecular Biology (1992). In 1977-1993 he worked as Junior and Senior Scientist, Laboratory Head, Scientific Director, Director of Institute, Deputy General Director and Professor in Scientific Association “Vector” (Novosibirsk, Russia). In 1993 he moved to U.S.A. and worked as Visiting and Research Professor at University of Missouri-Columbia and Professor at Auburn University (since 2000). He is recipient of grants from ARO, DARPA and NIH, and Pfizer Animal Health Award for Research Excellence (2006).
