Dr. Adam Z. Stieg is a chemist and microscopist who joined the UCLA faculty in 2009. He currently serves as the Scientific Director of the Nano and Pico Characterization Core Facility at CNSI, as well as Director of the Sci|Art Institute. Dr. Stieg earned his B.S. in Chemistry from Drew University and both his M.S. and Ph.D. in Inorganic and Physical Chemistry from UCLA. He is a member of the CNSI Executive and Eduaction Committees. As a faculty researcher, Dr. Stieg continues to focus on the design and application of new methods for nanoscale characterization, with specific emphasis in scanning probe microscopy.
