Hossein Shirangi graduated from Sharif University of Technology (BS in Aerospace) and University of Stuttgart (Msc in Computational Mechanics). From 2006 to 2009 he pursued his PhD studies on the reliability of electronic packages in the automotive electronics division of Robert Bosch GmbH in Reutlingen, Germany. In a collaborative work, he spent half of his working time at Fraunhofer Institute for Reliability and Microintegration (IZM), department Micro Materials Center Berlin (MMCB). In his work, he developed novel testing methods to characterize the moisture driven cracking of polymer/metal joints and utilized the methods for the finite element analysis of interface delamination in microelectronic assemblies. Currently he is with the Bosch Group and leads an R&D project for lifetime estimation of high-temperature components.
