Technical Advisory Board Member
Dr. Keith Glassford brings more than 19 years of experience as a scientist and business leader to his role on Nanostellar's technical advisory board. Most recently, he was Vice President, Chemicals, Materials & Manufacturing for Accelrys with responsibility for developing and deploying computational science and informatics based solutions for the chemicals, materials and pharmaceutical industries. Dr. Glassford held various positions while at Accelrys, including Director of Accelrys' Catalysis Consortium, Quantum Chemistry and Physics Product Manager and subsequently as Director of Marketing for Accelrys' Materials Science division. Prior to that, he worked as an Applications Scientist at Molecular Simulations Inc. (MSI), one of the companies that joined together to form Accelrys in 2001. Dr. Glassford also held a Multidisciplinary Postdoctoral position in Chemical Engineering, Physics, and Materials Science at the University of Illinois, where he worked on and developed plane-wave and localized orbital codes to study the properties of molecules, surfaces and materials. He received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemical Engineering from Michigan State University and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Minnesota. During this time, he applied quantum theory to understand the properties of transition metal oxides and developed force fields for semiconductor materials.
