Magnetic Field Effect on the Bacterial Cell Growth

Abstract:

We study the effect of weak inhomogeneous magnetic field on the growth of bacteria. Some of the bacterial grow rapidly with increasing magnetic field and some of them even slow down. Moreover, the variation of growth has been noticed with the difference of magnetic field. We used the commonly found known bacteria Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, which did not show much difference in the growth in the beginning. Typically after 10‐12 hours, the pronounced effect of magnets was observed at 37 C as well as at the room temperature.
