Abstract:

This project combines scenario planning and life cycle approaches in evaluating and mitigating the potential risks of an environmental sensing platform under development at UC Berkeley. This novel methodology not only allows for early identification of potential problems and tradeoffs, but also facilitates the integration of disparate research streams into a coherent whole. As such, it should be of interest to organizations engaged in early-stage technology development in both the public and private sectors.
