Controlling the hydrogenation of graphene on transition metals

Abstract:

We study the influence of transition metal substrate on the hydrogen uptake of a monolayer graphite (MG) using XPS and NEXAFS. For this purpose, we compare the nature of adsorption, saturation limit and preferential sites of hydrogen adsorption on HOPG, MG/Pt(111), MG/Ir(111) and MG/Ni.
