Polymer-Embedded Carbon Nanotube Ribbons for Stretchable Conductors

Abstract:

Stretchable electronics can potentially enable new applications in a wide range of technologies. Maintaining stable conductivity under stretching is critical for the reliability of stretchable electronics. Here we report carbon nanotube ribbons/poly(dimethylsiloxane) (CNT/PDMS) films that can maintain stable conductivity under repetitive stretching to large strains (up to 100%). Furthermore, the CNT/PDMS films are highly transparent and flexible, making them attractive for applications such as flexible displays and solar cells.
