I.P. Brief: 

Nickel-based catalysts offer low cost, effective option for steam reforming. However, nickel does not resist carbon deposition, causing catalyst deactivation. Noble-metal catalysts though offer higher performance but are more expensive. The Inventors have developed a novel catalyst containing nickel spinel(NiAl2O4), which is not a good substrate for carbon solubilization.
