Ink-printed Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Films for Photovoltaic Devices

Fabrication of CIGS(Cu(In,Ga)Se2) absorber layer by nano-ink casting has been investigated. The process mainly involves preparation of Cu­In­Ga­Se nanoparticles, ink­printing in ambient pressure and heat treatment. The CIGS nanoparticles were prepared by sonochemical syntheses of metal and chalcogenide precursors in sub-kilogram scale. The CIGS precursor solution were coated on Mo/glass substrate by spin­casting and other methods. The CIGS nano particles and the thin films were characterized by X­ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscophy (SEM) and energy diffraction X­ray spectroscopy(EDS). Photovoltaic device (glass/Mo/CIGS/CdS/i­ZnO/AZO/Al) with non-vacuum processed CIGS layer, exhibited a reproducible optical conversion response, which could reduce fabrication cost and time of CIGS thin film solar cell.
