Decreasing Performance of An Amorphous Silicon Grid-connected System That was Install in Thailand

An a-Si array is 4.8 kWp was installed on the concrete roof of Renewable Energy Research Laboratory building in Rajamangala University of Technology Suvarnabhumi Thailand. The system has been in operation since August 2003 continuously to the present time. The inverters are tied to the utility grid via a three-phase connection. An analysis method from the International Energy Agency Photovoltaic Power System Task2 (IEA PVPS Task2) was used. The performance parameters included performance ratio, reference yield, final yield, array capture losses, system losses, array efficiency, inverter efficiency, and overall plant efficiency. The data from monthly recording from the electrical instrument that was built in the inverter of GCS, and used solar irradiance data from the Meteorological Department of Bangkok, and from the PC based monitor system that the author developed by LabVIEW.
