Dr. Xingbo Liu is a faculty in Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) Department at West Virginia University (WVU). After receiving his Ph.D on materials science from University of Science & Technology Beijing in 1999, he joined WVU MAE in January 200 as a postdoc, and he is currently an Associate Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the Department.

Dr. Liu’s research areas are materials in energy conversion and storage systems, especially for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and batteries. He holds 4 granted & pending patents, and has published more than 60 peer-reviewed journal papers in these areas. Dr. Liu has received numerous awards including an R&D 100 Award, and TMS Early Career Faculty Fellow Award.
