This method aims to fabricate porous SiC ceramics by combining sol-gel and in-situ polymerization approaches, and controlling the porosity and pore size distribution and increasing the mechanical properties of the porous body. The resulting porous ceramics are strongly resistant to oxidation and present the properties of a proper filter.
