Larry Peterson, MBA, is Executive Director of the Texas Foundation for Innovative Communities in Austin, Texas, focused on accelerating innovation, organizing regional cluster initiatives, and developing state competitiveness in the clean tech sector. The Foundation also manages the Texas Association of Research Parks and Incubators, and a related SBIR/STTR energy research program. A serial entrepreneur, angel investor, and software engineer, Mr. Peterson previously founded and sold two IT companies serving the southwest region. He has also served as chair of the state bipartisan political leadership organization, the Texas Lyceum, as founding member of the original New Mexico Technology Research Corridor (TRC) organization, founding board member of the Texas Capital Coalition, co-chair of the Texas Software and Wireless Technology Cluster initiative, an original member of the Texas Technology Working Initiatives Group (TWIG) chaired by Dr. George Kozmetsky, and as founding advisory board member and current national board member of the Sandia Lab-created Bi-National Sustainability Lab (BNSL). Mr. Peterson frequently speaks about topics of innovation, entrepreneurship and cluster initiatives, and has participated in the creation or development of multiple technology incubators, venture competitions, and entrepreneur forums.
