Shyam Venkatesh is currently serving as the Director of Investment and Policy at the National Industrial Clusters Development Program, Ministry of Commerce, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia - with the mandate of developing strategies and policies to enable globally competitive technology-based industrial manufacturing investments.

He has nearly 15 years of experience in advanced energy technology development and marketing. He was formerly with Arthur D. Little (ADL) where he was involved in the development of advanced clean energy technologies including emissions-control devices and systems for stationary and mobile applications, alternative fuel-based transportation and energy generation systems, biomass reactors and fuel cell systems. While at ADL he also devised technology, product development, and market strategies for major global corporations as well as start-up companies. He has served as a consultant to the DOE, DOD, the U.S. EPA, the California Energy Commission, and the World Bank. Prior to joining Omron Silicon Valley in September 2006, for nearly two years, Shyam directed technology commercialization at the NASA Ames Research Center in Mountain View with a focus on Nanotechnology, Life Sciences, and Artificial Intelligence.

Shyam has a Ph.D in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from India. He also has an MBA from the Haas Business School,University of California, Berkeley.
