Stanley Blazewicz is the global vice president of technology and innovation at National Grid. He is responsible for aligning National Grid’s technology and innovation activities with its corporate strategy. He assesses emerging technologies and develops strategies, plans, and partnerships to pursue growth opportunities. In addition, he coordinates National Grid’s global research and development program and ensures integration of new technologies across business lines.

Mr. Blazewicz has more than 23 years experience in energy technology and innovation management, including technology assessment, strategic planning, public policy, commercialization, R&D program management, and public private partnerships. He has worked with energy companies, utilities, small start-ups, large equipment suppliers and government organizations. Previously, he was managing director of Navigant Consulting’s Energy Research and Technology Management practice and has held positions with Arthur D. Little, the U.S. Department of Energy, and Wartsila Diesel.

Mr. Blazewicz started his career in the US Navy as a nuclear submarine officer and holds a BA in electrical engineering from SUNY Maritime College and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from George Washington University.
