Fred Lisy is the President of Orbital Research Inc., Cleveland Ohio. He oversees the development and commercialization of Orbital’s products that utilize their innovative micro/miniature actuators, sensors, harsh environment electronics and advanced control strategies. Dr. Lisy specializes in identifying opportunities to transition these high technology products to the warfighter or commercial applications within the medical, automotive, and aircraft industries. Under his leadership, Orbital Research was presented with numerous awards for fast and consistent growth including the “Inc 500” award and 8 consecutive years on the Case Western Reserve University\'s Weatherhead School of Management top 100 list. Prior to joining Orbital Research, Dr. Lisy was the Program Manager and Senior Researcher for the Center on Materials for Space Structures (CMSS), a NASA Center for Commercial Development of Space (CCDS) at Case Western Reserve University. While working at CMSS, he was instrumental in developing and monitoring the payload of eight passive and one active space shuttle experiments. He received his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. He was selected President of ASM International, the Materials Information Society, “Young Engineer of the Year” by the Cleveland Engineering Society, recognized for “Outstanding Technical Achievement” by the Cleveland Technical Societies Council and honored as one of Cleveland’s “Top 40 Engineers” and “Top Leaders Under 40” by Crain\'s Cleveland Business magazine.
