Albert Mihranyan is Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the Division of Nanotechnology and Functional Materials, Department of Engineering Sciences, Uppsala University, Sweden. He received his PhD in Pharmaceutics from Uppsala University in 2005. In 2012 he was a visiting researcher at McGill University, Canada, in Prof. Derek Gray’s group. Albert Mihranyan was merited as a promising young scientist with several prizes including the Chester Carlsson Award by Xerox and Swedish Royal Engineering Sciences Academy, the King Oscar II Award by Uppsala University, and the King Carl XVI Gusraf’s 50 years Jubilee Foundation Award, which he received from H.R.M. King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf himself at the Royal castle in Stockholm. His research activities include synthesis, characterization, and applications of advanced functional materials useful in life sciences and energy storage. Substantial part of his work is related to studying nanocellulose and nanocellulose-based composites.
